Not only does C8 Corvette Paint Protection Film provide protection against most rock chips, it also makes it nearly impossible to swirl the paint while washing! Unfortunately, we have a lot of construction in the Copperas Cove/Killeen/Harker Heights area! Believe it or not, our own vehicle was chipped with rocks from construction before we got our first tank of gas.
Due to environmental regulations, paint is now thinner as volatile organic compounds (VOC) have been reduced. Water-based paints require less clearcoat, which makes the paint overall thinner. This, of course, makes them easier to chip and scratch down to the base (color) coat.
