How awesome is our little brother to our BMW i8, the BMW i3? At first, we weren’t sure that we liked it. However, we really fell in love with it while we had it at HHCC! 


Just a reminder that we have a 55 panel, 22.14kW solar panel system on our shop, and EV chargers both inside, and outside. Like our BMW i8, the i3 is a hybrid that we can deliver with a better charge that it came with!


The BMW i3 was a repeat client we have from the Belton area, who gave us a Merkur to work on previously. Fortunately, white hides a lot of scratches, but under our light we could see years of swirls. As always, we used our Flex polishers, Lake Country blue and orange HDO pads, Meguiar’s M110 Ultra Pro Speed Compound and Meguiar’s M210 Ultra Pro Finishing Polish to prep the paint and make it look new again. Sure enough, the owner thought it looked like new!


PAint Corrections

After we compounded and polished and finished our two-step paint correction, we installed SB3 Coatings Thirty3. This is a three-year ceramic coating boasting a glossy finish It also has hydrophobic properties, chemical resistance, UV protection, and more. We then applied SB3 Coatings Vortex two-year ceramic coating on the wheels and SB3 Coatings Optic one year ceramic coating on the windshield and glass. 


 


We have had so many ceramic coating clients over the last few weeks as it gets into car cleaning season. This is more than we have had clear bra/paint protection film/PPF.

The key takeaway is that the primary differences are in the properties of the adhesive, which is something installers have to deal with, but generally, don’t have an effect on anything the client sees.


People frequently ask about Xpel clear bra/paint protection film, and if Legend PPF compares to Xpel at all. A lot of people use Xpel to mean clear bra, because Xpel is one of the most popular brands.
